Summary Through Pg. 23
So far in The House on Mango Street the narrator and main character is a girl named Esperanza. She tells about how they just moved into a new house, and how her family gets along. Her family had to move out of their old apartment because the pipes busted and the landlord would not fix it. They had to get out of there fast! Esperanza talks about how her family gets along, and how the boys don't talk to the girls outside of the house. Esperanza says she doesn't have any friends, but she met two girls they wanted to share a bike with her, and they became friends. I think this book is pretty good so far, it's somewhat confusing but I think it will get better as it goes on.

Painful, Awkward, Embarrassing Situations
In young adulthood, the most painful situations are probably boys. They cause many heartaches, and tears. They can tear you apart, and also make you feel like a princess. I think every girl, or guy has gotten their heart broken or broken someones heart it is the worst feeling in the world. An awkward or embarrassing situation could be when this guy likes you and you don't know how to what to tell him. You don't want to be with him, but you also don't want to hurt his feelings. Another awkward situation is when you and your friends are talking about someone, and all the sudden they show up or you see them the next day.
