The author of The House on Mango Street is Sandra Cisneros. She was the 3rd of the 7 children in her family, born in Chicago. Sandra wrote her first poem that the age of 10, and became known for writing throughout high school. She had many different teaching positions such as teaching former high school drop outs. Her most famous written book is The House on Mango Street.
